December Catch Up

Ward Christmas Party

I got to help with the Ward Christmas Party this year. I said in the meeting we wanted to do the Nativity with the Primary kids. I found a nativity program online, then the Bishop gave me one they used last year during sacrament. Then I decided I didn't want to do that one because it was deaper than I wanted for the kids. So last week I changed it to one Mom had and edited with the songs we wanted and slightly shortened it. We had 22 kids sign up and then a bunch ask me before we started if they could be in the play. I think we ended with 40 kids which was so great for the singing they did. I told the parents to bring their own kids costumes and then Jeri brought a bunch of extra, everyone got to dress up so that was fun. Gavin was sick so Grandma offered to stay home with him so the rest of us could go.
We also did a Christmas tree lane. Every organization was in charge of decorating a tree for the party. For primary I wanted every kid to make a decoration for the tree. I am sad I didn't get a picture. I asked each teacher if they would be in charge of having each child make a ornament for the tree. They came up with some great ones. One teacher did a stable with baby jesus out of sticks and foam, Gavin class made snowmen, nursery did stars that they glued on glitter, another class did lightbulb reindeer, foam circle bulbs with stickers, one class did reindeer out of clothes pins. Each class also made paper snowflakes to hang around the gym. It was so cute. I got released from primary secretary two weeks ago, but happy they let me still help with the Christmas Party.

Paris likes to have her blanket on her head even when she is sleeping. Funny girl.
Chris hunting trip actually this was November. He got a bobcat. The boys thought it was cool, but Brody wouldn't touch it.

Mike and the kids all came to see, along with Grammy and Grandad.

Brody loves his hampster. He wanted her in his pocket. I am sure the hampster does not like Brody.

Paris has pulled the tree down twice so far. So pulls on the ornaments a little hard. The star on top is broken now.
She also does not like to wear pants. She knows how to pull them off.
We had our last soccer game. The kids got a trophy.
Top: Helena (Coach), Josiah, Dayson, Jen (Assistant Coach)
Bottom: Ethan, Brody, Bella, Benji
They were all very good and had a great time playing.
Brody loves to sit with Grandpa and wait for his turn to play. Sometimes it was hard to get him to come out and play.

Gymnastics Holiday Spectacular

Both boys did their Holiday Gymnastics event this year. They did a floor routine, rings, and vault. It was fun to watch Brody will all the older boys. If he couldn't do something he would just roll. Gavin did the Level 4 boys competing rings routine. Really, he is so good, better than the older boys that are competing and did theirs. He can hold the maltese cross for a long time others only can for about 2 seconds.
The boys winning their trophy.

Fall 2011 Pictures

Picture time! I scheduled pictures with my friend Kelsey. The day before pictures I get a call from the nurse at school telling me Gavin got hurt on the playground and they put on a butterfly band-aid. I hadn't even thought about pictures until later. I didn't want to reschedule so I asked Gavin if I could take it off for pictures and put it back on. He started crying saying the nurse said he had to keep in on until Monday. So I decided to do pictures with the band-aid. I think the pictures turned out cute and it is just so Gavin. I debated about posting them because I plan to use these for Christmas cards, but I get to excited not to post the cute pictures.

Totally Brody always wanting to be silly with the camera.
The kids found Lady Bugs. Lots of Lady Bugs. They keep wanted to catch them instead of doing pictures. So we have some cute pictures with them and the lady bugs or in Paris case pointing to the lady bugs. Brody put one in his pocket so he could get his picture taken.

The funniest thing is on Monday I was finally allowed to remove the band-aid. After I got the dried blood cleaned off the only thing there was a tiny cut. I was like "serious"!! I totally could have taken it off and cleaned it up for pictures. It was not a major injury, I think his bruised knee was worse than his cut. Kids are so fun!

Soccer

We started soccer this week. I am coach Brody team and my friends Jen (who I made assistnat coach) and her son Benji and Amber and her son Dayson is on the team along with 4 other kids from the area. Gavin is on a older team with someone else. The first week ended up being great. We had practice and I was a little worried after our first practice. They wouldn't stop picking up the ball and seemed like they had no idea what they were doing. But they ended up doing great in the game.

All ready to go to their first game.

Brody doing so good. The other little girl Alya needed to hold my hand the whole game. Maybe next game she will kick the ball when I pull her in front of the ball. The kids on my team had so much fun!! I had so much fun!

Gavin did great in his game. He played the same time our game was going so I only saw the ending because his games go longer. He had fun and made a goal. He is one of the smallest on his team.

Paris looking all cute watching the games.
Brody found a nice dog to sit by at the game. Not even scared, he is getting so brave, if they are nice dogs.
So fun, can't wait to do it again this week.

Farm Day

We went to the farm with Grandma and Grandpa. Eat lunch, jumped in the bounce house, and feed the animals. Always fun.

Halloween 2011

Brody's Preschool class Halloween day. My cute little Scooby Doo.
Gavin dressed as Otto the Robot from the book See Pip Point for his school literature parade. Yep same as last year. I am pretty sure it is just so he can get a balloon. I had thrown away the one from last year so I had to make it again. He was also a lot harder to please this year I had made it with a box head like last year and he didn't like so we had to try and fix it so he liked it.

Paris looking all cute to go to the boys school stuff.

I had to do pictures before we carved the pumpkins for Halloween. Got all dressed up and took pictures. Well the boys changed there mind on Halloween and did different costumes.

Gavin picked the bumble bee for the pictures that Symony sent for Brody and is a size 3 and three inches short for his legs. He was invited to go trick or treating at Brody's school and he had on the G.I. Joe costume, Otto robot for school, and Bumble Bee Ninja for trick-or-treating for a total of 4 costumes this year.

Brody wanted to be Scooby Doo again this year. No changing this boys mind. Every time they put on costumes he picked this one which is small. Then getting ready for trick-or-treating he changed his mind and went with G.I. Joe with a shield and sword.

Paris is a cute little fairy.

We went around Grandma and Grandpa's block. They do get hardly any trick-or-treat kids and even though we didn't go to many houses they gave hand fulls to them.

Brody got tired quick and was ready to go home. Gavin keep going with Grandma and Grandpa for another block. Paris did great walking around carried her basket, but got nervous with actually getting the candy from people.
Pumpkin time. We carved pumpkins Gavin did great! Brody didn't want to do it so we pulled out paints for him.

Paris did mostly swinging while we carved pumpkins.

Working hard.

The kids really liked the pretend candles inside the pumpkins. Paris thought it was cool and keep pointing to them.

Paris really likes Grandma right now. When she leaves she cries.

Gavin is a pretty funny kid.
