Christmas

We had a lot of fun this Christmas we had Grandma and Grandpa Barrett come and visit this year which we love visitors. Gavin got so many gifts this year probably way to many. He got a Cars magnetic book, cars plate and cup sets, velcro ball catch game from Grandma and Grandpa Barrett. He got a remote car and cash register and books from Grandma and Grandad Parker. He got a T-ball set from Santa. He got a Fire Truck and Vacuum from mom and dad. He got books from Becky, Matt and Colton and Tomas the Train and light wand from Mike, Amy and the gang. He loves everything every time we would get him to open a gift we couldn’t get him to open any other he wanted to “Play” so opening gifts took a long time. Chris and I were very spoiled also, we got a very expensive Bosch from Grandma and Grandpa Barrett which we made some yummy sugar cookies. And from Grandma and Grandad Parker we got a nice gun cabinet and mom is planning on taking me clothes shopping when she comes to visit in February I can’t wait especially because I will hopefully be a little skinner then well until Diana comes to visit and I get eating a lot of treats when she is around. And Grandad and Chris can watch Gavin while we go. Becky, Matt and Colton gave Chris a nice new black shirt and me scrapbooking supplies, which I can always use, and love. Mike, Amy and the gang gave us some super soft sheets for the bed Amy is so good at remembering things that I mention that I want to buy. As usual, Bean and John say they have a gift and it will be shipped. They are so cute and there gift is always late but it is so fun to get to open more gifts later. They are so sweet to remember us and spend money on us when they don’t need to. Almost forgot Santa got us a BBQ Grill. Chris was so sweet to give me (Helena) a Play pack for baby Brody, scrapbooking wants and cute PJ pants. I got Chris some shirts for work to make us money, memory card for Playstation 2, Chipotle gift card and Gavin gave dad a flashlight.

Grandma and Grandpa's visit

After Christmas Gavin took Grandma and Grandpa Barrett to the Zoo and Gavin ran around all over the place. Grandpa took Gavin on the Carousel and we saw lots of fun animals I think Gavin and Grandpa liked the spider monkeys. Other things we did was we went to the temple and saw a puppet show it was really cheesy at the very first of the show the had a huge dog puppet and the whole time Gavin wanted to see “More Dog” Gavin liked the show but I am glad we didn’t have to pay to see it. The lights were great to see, last year we went to see the lights on opening ceremonies and there were way to many people this year was so nice to walk around and enjoy the beautiful lights with out a million people there. Gavin walked around with Grandma and Grandpa while we waited for the show to start and Gavin got away from Grandma for a minute and went to the water Grandma was scared for a minute that she lost Gavin. We went to the swap meet one day what a pain Gavin did not want to sit in his stroller and if he was out he wanted to touch everything that could break. He cried a lot and all the old people tried to get him happy which didn’t work. Grandma and Grandpa are still looking at houses out here I think they will look forever especially because there is way to many to pick from millions of house to choose from. Grandma and Grandpa were so nice to help me clean my house. Grandpa got the joy of having Gavin “Help” they cleaned the windows Gavin was soaked and so was Grandpa’s shoe.

My Turn!!!

Gavin always wants to "Help" and after he asks to help he says its "My Turn". But the things that I want him to help with he doesn't, like pick up his toys or put his shoes away. He wants to play in the bubbles and help wash dishes and help cook. When Gavin wants to help he goes and gets a chair or his stool to help it is cute but I wish he would help me with other things. This day I was making dinner with potatoes and he thought he should get to help. I love that he sticks his tongue out when he is thinking hard.

Christmas Party

We had a ward Christmas party and got a visit from santa. Gavin didn't cry like last year but he sure didn't look happy to be sitting on his lap.

Locked Out

We had some day today I went out to get Gavin’s shoes that were in the garage and Gavin locked the dead bolt. I tried to talk Gavin how to unlock the bolt but I was getting frustrated and Gavin was crying and frustrated. I told him to get his stool or a chair he just keep trying to turn the knob. After about 15 min of trying to get him to unlock the door I decided that it wasn’t going to work so I started to think how I could get in the house. I decided the only way I could get in was the back door because that is the only door I know he can unlock. I got the ice chest to put in front of our fence but it wasn’t tall enough. So then I took the dog carrier and was able to get high enough to get on the fence then I just had to be able to get my leg over the side which was a challenge having a 7-month baby belly to work with. After I got both my legs over the side and was sitting on the fence then I had to decide how I would get down the other side. I didn’t have shoes on so I didn’t want to jump down on the rocks so I decided to turn around and go down like scaling a wall I put my feet on the side and went to let my self down but didn’t work like I had planned my hands slipped and I feel right on my butt on the rocks. Don’t worry I am alright however, I did break 3 fingernails in the process. So after I got over I had to get Gavin to go to the back door and unlock the door. I saw him in his room sitting on the floor crying I knock he comes over I look at his door and we have a child proof lock on his door so he stays in his room during naps I was so afraid he had locked him self in his room and there was no way I would be able to get back over the wall especially because I wouldn’t have anything to climb on. But it was ok he hadn’t closed the door all the way so he could get out. So I tell him to go to the back door and let me inside. He leaves so I go to the back door I knocking and he isn’t coming I walk around to the different windows and he got distracted with a game I could hear him in there playing I am knocking on the different windows and door to get him to come and he still doesn’t come. Finally he is back in his room so I knock he comes over and I am talking to him through the window. I say you want to go outside and ride your bike he says yes but still doesn’t move. Finally I convince him to go to the back door it takes him some time but he finally comes and unlocks the door. I call Chris at work to tell him what happens and he just laughs and asks why I didn’t use the ladder in the garage-didn’t think about that but I still would have had trouble getting down the other side. The hole episode took about 45 min and I have decided that I need to hide a key outside someplace.

Brody Ray Parker

We have new news on Brody Ray Parker; they have scheduled the c-section on January 24, 2008 at Banner Gateway Hospital in Gilbert. It will be at 10:00 and usually takes at least an hour for the surgery. I have to be at the hospital at 8:00 to be get ready for surgery. It is getting closer!!

Thanksgiving

I am going to try this Blog thing out because Braydan and Jessica's Blog is so cute I decided to try it again.

We went to Mike and Amy's for Thanksgiving and Grandma and Grandad Parker came to visit. We had lots and lots of food and Grandma dropped the sweet potatoes while she took them out of the oven what a mess. We have to give her a hard time. However, most of us didn't mind because we don't really like sweet potatoes. I am pretty sure Gavin didn’t eat anything maybe a tiny piece of Ham which he wanted to dip in the gravy. After dinner we went outside and played Gavin played mostly with Kyler’s new toy a T-Ball set which I am very glad he likes, don’t tell Gavin but that was what we got for him for Christmas along with a kids vacuum that really picks up. The other kids and Mike played with a big ball the kids had lots of fun.

Grandma and Grandad Parker stayed with us for around 5 days and then with Mike and Amy for 5 days. We had lots of fun we went shopping, the zoo, the park and just had fun. The Zoo was fun this time we went to the Stingray Bay and touched the Rays Gavin liked to put his hand in the water but if he actually touched one, he got scared and pulled his hand out of the water. Gavin was so tired after the zoo he fell asleep in the car just min after getting in but went in and out of consciousness he would wake and say “I want to go to the Park” and fall back asleep or he would wake up crying and I would ask if he wanted water and he would yell “NO” I asked if he wanted food he would yell “NO” and then go right back to sleep. Gavin loved to drive in Grandad’s truck now every truck that drives by he says its “Grandad’s Truck”. I love to have grandparents stay with us they get up early with Gavin and I get to sleep in. It was lots of fun having them come and we will get to see them again in Feb. It will also be fun to have Grandma and Grandpa Barrett stay with us for Christmas and again end of January.

Cushion Jumping

Gavin likes to jump on the cushions the only time it was a problem was when he jumped with no cushions on the ground and got hurt.
