First Day of School

Today was Gavin’s first day of joy school. The morning started with me telling Gavin he had school today and he needed to get ready. The conversation went along like the usually conversation that we have when we go places. “Mom are you going to stay a long time” as I tell him no today mom’s can’t go to school. “But mom I want you to stay a long time” so I tell him this week is at Aunt Amy’s house and Kyler will be there so it will be fun. I was able to get him excited telling him he needed to find crayons, a book and glue. When I left, he did cry for just a second but then was fine. Amy said he did good and listened well. On the way home, he told me of all the fun he had and said, “See mom I told you I could go to school all by myself.” Yea, he told me! Then today he wanted to put everything in his backpack to go to school. He didn’t take scissors so we had to put those in his backpack. Then after lunch, he put his left over sandwiches in his backpack for school. I tried to explain school is not going to be for a couple of days so we can’t put food in your backpack. He wanted to put his dinner (pizza) in his backpack. Everything he plays with he wants to put in his backpack for school. I can tell he really likes school. I hope that he will still like it when it is at a house he doesn’t know. The class has a total of 8 kids, all boys and Gavin ended up being the youngest in the class.

This is a video of Gavin singing in his "song book".
