Kids Update

Paris went to the Dr for her 9 month check. The doctor was very concerned that she wasn't crawling or stepping. Chris and I are not worried, we are more concerned that she isn't sleeping through the night. The Dr was less worried about that. Chris doesn't want her any bigger. She sure is cute.

Stats: She had a growth spurt, growing so fast. Weight 17 lbs 29%, Length 26" 8%, Head a big jump to 17" 45%.
Dad had a week break and I kind of feel bad that I didn't spend as much time with the family as I would have liked. Instead I worked on Primary all week, all day. Chris was tired of Primary by the end of the week. I think the kids enjoyed spending time with dad. They did a lot in the garage so the kids rode their bikes. It was kind of cold that week, but not cold enough for Brody who sweats to wear real shoes or jacket. Just Gavin would wear 2-3 jackets at a time.
Brody is my goof ball. His nursery teacher just loves him. She tells me every time I pick him up that he is so good. She says he is going to be, so good in school, she knows she is a teacher. I sure hope he is. We have debated about putting Brody in Gymnastics or Preschool next school year. Chris doesn't want to put him in Preschool until the next year. I don't think he wants to pay for either of them, one cost enough. I think Brody would really like preschool better than gymnastics, he is not as graceful, and he loves learning what Gavin is learning. But I never did pay for Gavin to go, so it is hard for me to pay for that.
Gavin says he is ready to go back to school. He loves Labs especially art. He also loves to do art at home. I tried to work on stuff that his teacher wanted him to work on, but it is so hard and he gets so frustrated. Before the break his teacher talked to me about doing transition first grade and then maybe repeating first grade if he doesn't catch up. I am all for repeating. I used to be so stressed about him learning everything he needed, but now I figure he will learn it next year, no big deal. School starts Thursday, yea! We worked on discipline this last week with both Gavin and Brody. The most major was them being horrible (getting into everything including my stuff, dads things, pulling everything out of their closets) when they were supposed to be in bed sleeping. Also worked on cleaning up after themselves (learning to clean their own rooms), and tantrums, both have been sweeter, happier children. I hope they can keep up the good work or they will keep on not getting privileges (including going to Grandpa's). We used Gavin not getting to go to Grandpas today if Gavin wouldn't clean his room that he made a huge mess of in time. Brody was really hoping he wouldn't clean it in time because he wanted to go all by himself. Gymnastics starts again after a two week break I am ready to get the kids back on normal schedules.

Okay what were you working on for primary all week? All the beginning of the year stuff? Our secretary was moving so our president did all the binders and schedules for the teachers. I feel bad for her, but she never told us till after. Primary is crazy busy! The kids are so cute. All different personalities. I love the art stuff all over the table. That's why I hate doing projects at home! That's why I like preschool so the mess is there and not all over the house :)

paris is so cute! I think the dr is crazy my girls didn't walk till they were 14 mo and took till even longer to talk! I don't know how you survive when none of your kids sleep! Brodie is so funny! I say you put him in what ever he will like the best! Its ok if they don't all do the same stuff! You are a good mom to let them do all those projects at home, I agree with jessica too messy for me! Glad they are being better kids, it takes a lot of work to get them to that point! Is brody potty trained?

me too about the kids back in school and regular schedules!

By the way, do what you feel is best about putting your kids in things. :) What works for one child won't work for another. Abby loves soccer but Tyler did not at all! Go figure..:) Talk soon
