Last couple of days with the Parkers!!

Brody is the best little baby ever, last night he went 8 hours without eating I am amazed!! Except I need to learn to go to bed when he does he went from 7-3 and then got up at 6:30. But I didn’t go to bed until 10:00. The little piggy needed to eat all morning to make up for lat night. At least every 2 hours one time he only went an hour. Hey, what ever he needs to do to sleep that long again. Gavin was and still is a horrible sleeper. Up ever 2 hours until around 1.5 years. I still hear Gavin up crying at 2.5. I am worried about them sharing a room when they are older. Gavin has to have his light on and if I turn it off after he is asleep, he just gets up and turns it back on. We turned it off 4 times one night now I just leave it on, figure he is probably get We cut Chris’ hair last night and I really messed it up. I was trying to blend it with a comb like Becky does and totally slipped and cut a nice little mark on his head. I think the haircut went better than usual except the slip. The guards are nice. I tried to leave above it long so it would cover my mistake but you can totally tell. Good thing his hair grows fast I can try again in a couple of weeks.

Yesterday we went to the zoo with Amy and the kids. Let me just say it was a lot harder than I thought it would be. I have to have Chris or a friend like Emily who doesn’t have kids that can help me. You wouldn’t think two would be that much harder but it is. I decided that if I do go places by myself that I will need to buy a double stroller. Especially if Brody gets any bigger my back is killing me today. So I started with Brody is the stroller and Gavin walking but bad mistake the first thing he did when we got there was run off. I had to chase after him and Gavin is a super fast runner. Then Amy and the kids caught up and Keagan and Samantha were so good to try and hold is hand so we wouldn’t run away. But he doesn’t like his hand held so I ended up having Amy watch Gavin while I ran the car seat that goes on the stroller back to the car so I could make Gavin sit in the stroller. I carried Brody in the front carrier. First thing, Gavin did when I left was run into the river, poor Amy had to get him out without getting wet herself. We decided to take the little train ride they have to see the animals it was way to fast I thought not long enough to sit and enjoy. Then the Children’s Trail was open so we went there. Lots of fun things to do a little play area, Wallaby’s, petting zoo with goats I think there was more but we decided to go home I think we were there like 5 hours. You could probably spend all day on the kids trail. The first little park that was there had a tunnel. And what do you know it had a big mud puddle at the bottom. All the other little kids would walk around it not Gavin he jumped in the puddle. His shoes were already wet anyway what would a little mud do. At the petting zoo the kids loved it they went from goat to goat petting them and I forgot to tell Amy but Gavin and Cloie ran through the puddles in the goat area, I sure hope it was water not goat urine. What is a little urine right? Amy feed Brody for me while I watch the kids in the petting area. I was so hard to keep track of all the kids. Luckily, there was only one exit and Amy was able to sit at the exit to make sure no kids escaped. I don’t know who was easier to keep track of Gavin or Kyler but are hard. At one point the kids were running around this area, Amy sat on one side, and I was on the other. Next thing we know Kyler is not there. So I go and find him he wasn’t far and had him wait by Keagan while I told Amy that he was there and grab the stroller and Gavin. And not one minute later when we got there Keagan was there but were was Kyler he had run off again. Amy spent a little while looking for him and I took the rest of the kids to another area to play. Next thing I know Kyler is there playing with the kids no idea were he came from. Told Amy he was with them, needless to say Kyler had to spend a little extra time in the stroller. Well we finally got to the car to drive home I had to hurry home before Brody got up and wanted to eat again. And you know how most normal kids sleep in a car especially a long hour car ride. Not Gavin he was wining because he was tired and just bugging me and it was close to rush hour so I had to concentrate. So I keep having to tell Gavin to be quite because there was lots of cars. Gavin keep saying he wanted “Car to Crash” well I was going to if he keep talking. He is so weird he always wants the car to crash.

Gavin and his favorite Goat!
Today was craft day. Gavin helped me make some blankets for Brody. Well not really blankets I just wanted something lightweight to wrap Brody in at night because he is sweating so much. Mom had suggested wrapping a sheet around him; I thought it was a good idea. So I had grabbed a sheet but it was to big so then I used a crib sheet but with the elastics it keeps going over his head. So today, I had the bright idea to surge a piece of fabric I had to be his blanket. Gavin was a big helper, his job was the peddle pusher. So he would push the peddle and I would direct the fabric. I only had to fix one part because he would not stop but he did really good at listening surprisingly. Then we decided to make our Easter Egg shell craft. Amy gave me the idea to keep the shells from the eggs and glue them on paper. Gavin really only liked putting the glue on the paper. I need to buy stock of glue when school starts again. Last year I had got them for $0.20 what a deal I need to buy lots come August.
Gavin pushing the peddle.
Gavin and the craft project. If it drys well I am sure the Grandparents will get to injoy a Egg Shell paper in the mail. Hope it mails well. I sure hope you don't keep everything we send!

Gavin has the best little memory. Today I gave him some Nilla Wafers first thing Gavin says “Like Grandpa” and every time we read his Vehicles That Go book the white van is “Like Grandma’s” just because last visit she rented a white van and ever truck is like Grandad’s. Sorry mom you don’t have anything that is like Grandma’s yet. Grandpa has actually a couple just because he is crazy. He makes a chocking sound and says “That’s what Grandpa does”, also Yea Yea Yea from last summer vacation to Utah “That’s what Grandpa does”. Gavin’s new thing is calling on the phone. I usually only have him bug Dad and the Grandparents. He is starting to be the best little talker even on the phone if you can tell what he is saying. Last night the home teacher Brother Rupp came and Gavin repeated the prayer with Dad without even being asked. So cute!! Tomorrow Brigham and his wife Lisa are going to watch our two kids tomorrow so we can go to the temple. Then later we are going to a wedding open house for a co-worker and after going to dinner with other work friends Teresa and Adriane. I am glad that Chris works with people I like Emily and Teresa.

Well that was the last couple of days hope everyone else is having as much fun as us. Oh, Sym asked if Gavin was potty trained. Not even close!! He doesn't even want me to change his diaper when it is dirty. Right now I don't feel like I can potty train just because I have to feed Brody so much. And I have heard going on vacation can put them back so I figured I would wait until we got home from Utah to try again. I know it will not be fun but I hope that it will be easier than the last time we tried.

wow that was a good entry! I wish I went out and did as much fun stuff as you guys do! That is weird about gaving and his sleeping habbits I would be like a zombie after a night with him!!! my best advise about the hair cut is to maybe just use guards most clippers have a lever on the side so all you have to do it do the bottom then to blend it raise the lever then go to the next guard until you can blend it with you fingers try that next time! It sounds like you had a good exersize at the park chasing all those kids around! about the stroller that is what I have been telling josh I want for mothers day there is one on this quixter thing we have it is around $150 and it is really really nice the front seat flips back and forth so they can either look at eachother or they can both look forward let me know if you want that website! That is so silly how Gavin wants the cars to crash I am sure if he is ever in one he will never want them to crash again!!!! its ok you aren't the only one with out many friends! I can't believe you let gavin do the peddle on the surger I would be scared he would surge my finger, but then again I am not very good at that anyway! well thanks for the really good blog it was fun to read!

Helena, you are so funny. I guess you have to have a sense of humor to have Gavin. I was worn out just reading about your trip to the zoo. I think I would tie Gavin to the stroller or tie him to myself! Crazy boy. I'm glad your getting more sleep. You deserve it. Glad too you're gonna have a night out away from kids. That will be fun.

wow, you have a lot of energy. I can't believe you ventured out with Amy and the kids with out extra help. You both amaze me. It sounds like they really keep you busy. I'm glad Brody is sleeping for you, that is always nice. You will get the hang of cutting Chris' hair, his hair can be really difficult. I'm proud of you for doing it. I enjoy reading your blog, it's always so fun. I miss you guys tons, can't wait to see you in a couple of months.
